An indulging evening at Hyatt Regency, Amritsar

Being in golden city of Amritsar is always bliss. As a routine i come back here every year and right amidst the pleasant weather when, winters is just calming down leaving behind days that are pleasant and nights more chilly. I can’t even count the times i have been here yet i find something new to do and indulge in every time. This time i was welcomed by the team of Hyatt Regency, Amritsar, who hosted me for a lovely day.

While i waited at their all day cafe ‘Tarteria’ a Patisserie that promotes the notion of tarts to the taste of locals and travellers alike. What i really liked about the place is its soul- Chef Shiv who holds the reigns in kitchen and makes sure everything they offer is homemade, only natural colors are used and dishes that will impress your taste buds as well as your soul, after all you are in land of Amritsar. I tried an array of fresh tarts and sipped some coffee, a relief from the windy afternoon outdoors. He promised me an authentic local meal for lunch, I had no qualms about it and parted ways while I checked out the property and went for a spa session that was preplanned for me.

I then stepped into ‘Shanti Spa’ a spacious space that has an inviting ambiance. From the moment you walk in, you feel a sense of luxury and relaxation, leaving the outside world behind. The scents that fill the spa are calming and the spa is every bit stunning as the property itself. I love to leave all the pampering sessions to the last day of my vacation, so I can have a rejuvenating experience before my trip came to an end. The well-lit spa was spacious with masseuse who attended me began with a ritualistic feet wash, and treated me with an hour of soothing body massage. The massage began with kneading and long strokes, the pressure on each trigger point was so fabulous, I let go my senses in no time. You know you are in hands of well-trained masseuse when you immediately slip in Zen mode and next 60 minutes were pure bliss.

Pro Tip- while most of the spa’s make you fill forms and know your requirements. Make sure you let them know about your concerned areas and don’t ever feel conscious to tel them if the pressure is too much.

Punjab Province – Post spa i made my way to the in-house restaurant where Chef Shiv prepared a scrumptious North Indian meal for me. Tempting scents of food and an air of extravagance calls you out in this airy restaurant, I stepped out and took a sit in their alfresco seating, appreciating the slight winter chill.

We started off with a platter of appetizers that had tandoored ‘Chicken Tikka’ ‘Lamb Chapli with Anda’ ‘Fish Amritsari’ and ‘Kala kukkad’ the robust flavours made me realize how no part of India can beat the flavours of Punjab, maybe i was being biased but the food was just a gastronomical treat. My favourite and highly recommended dish is Kala Kukkad, with subtle yet lip-smacking flavours.

For main course chef presented yet another platter in an intricate ceramic plate, with a leaf that had several dishes like ‘Butter Chicken’ i mean you can’t leave Punjab without this. I was so glad it was still end of winters so i got to taste seasonal specialty like ‘Sarso Ka Saag’ paired with ‘Makke Ki Roti’ and side of gud (jaggery) and makkhan (butter) ‘Matka Gosh’  with tender mutton cooked really fine, i am not a big fan of chole so skipped that. The accompaniments like ‘Masala chaach’ ‘Kuchumber Salad’ made the meal elaborate and authentic. For desserts chef had a sweet gesture and presented me with a dessert that was full of different desserts. I mean literally desserts in dessert, it had kulfi faluda, ice cream with unique flavours like pan, gulkand etc all served in a glass. Well i can say it was not just food and presentation but the also the hospitality that made my visit a memorable one.

On my tour to property I noticed a vibrant section dedicated to kids, they had staff dedicated to look after kids while you enjoy a spa session of a leisure drink at the bar. They have 2 rooms divided for different age groups and open throughout the day. Form soft toys to video games, board games to movies; they were all stacked dup so your kids can easily spend a few hours without getting bored. I felt it was a wonderful thought and more and more hotels should do this as it gives the parents a much desired break and make the most of their vacation.

Spa Yoga by Jawed Habib, Hyderabad

To relax and renew is vital for living. Spa Yoga provides a complete luxuriate experience with their Services like body massage, scrubs, body polish and facials. All the products they use are in house Jawed Habib products that promise to give you a much needed pamper session and glow.

The ambiance is very cozy, red and cream details in interiors give you a very majestic vibe. Welcoming with lime water, the staff is humble and hospitable. Once done choosing the treatment we were lead to begin. The first was a typical foot wash, where they dip your feet in water filled with rose petals and rinse them well.

We were then escorted to our massage room, where the masseuse began the treatments. We choose to go with ‘Manipura Abhyanga’ for body; the name translates to beautiful and shining in Sanskrit. The treatment that lasted 60 minutes helps to balance and energize the Manipura chakra, it’s kind of healing therapy that triggers the body’s health by reliving of any stress and knots. The aromatic scents will fill your senses and leads you into de-stress zone. Next step was Body scrub, we choose to go for it as a spate treatment but they do offer some really good package deals.  ‘Shukla’ the heavenly body scrub massage lasted for 30 minutes and was simply phenomenal, the blend of Amalki, Yashti-madhu, Vrikshamla, Manjishtha and Shwet Chandan not just lightens the skin tone and nourishes it with Vitamin C but also makes one skin alluringly beautiful, I could feel my skin a lot softer, almost immediately.  I was sent off for a good 10 minutes steam, to let my skin absorb all the goodness of essential oils and benefit maximum out of my treatment. I love when they have Steam attached to your room, instead of going to some other space, after all its all about extra comfort.  the last treatment was the Whitening facial called ‘Shukla’ which is a blend of Amalki, Yashtimadhu, Vrilshamla, Manjistha and Shwet Chandan, an exclusively unique therapy for 60 minutes  that lightens the complexion and gives a soft even tone skin.

Our treatment ended with some much needed nuts and ginger lemon tea, boosting our immune system and ready to spend rest of the day in relax mode. so if you need a break Spa yoga is place to head. Hyderabad blogger, Indian travel blogger

Heavenly Spa at The Westin Hyderabad

Spa for most of us means a place where you get a massage. Which is actually not the case and at Westin Hyderabad, Heavenly Spa shows us why. The concept at Westin’s Heavenly Spa is to create a complete wellness experience.

I was invited over the weekend to indulge and review their signature heavenly massage. My therapist for the day led me to their massage room, and once I was ready she began with soaking my feet in warm water using mineral salt to cleanse them and began with my treatment. She used apple pie oil that gave extreme moisture to my winter dry skin. I drifted into Zen mode as she began with my concentrated (focus) area with required pressure to relive stress and have a more enhanced blood circulation in my body.

The pressure was just perfect and exactly what I needed after a long week of work, I enjoyed every bit of it.  As the warm oil seeped into my body I could feel my aches slowly fade away and enter a state of absolute bliss. This goes over an hour and my masseuse slowly kneads on my muscles combining that with gentle strokes. The last 10-15 minutes she spent massaging my face and head. More like pressing the correct pressure points and releasing stress and it was followed by a facial.

I opted for the ‘Illumination’ facial. It is curated to bring back glow to your face. The active ingredients and cooling gel mask brighten up the skin by treating the hyper pigmented areas. This again was an hour long treatment that was done using the ‘Comfort Zone’ products winding up with a pack followed by a serum to keep you skin glowing and hydrated.

At Heavenly Spa you can always add-on, facilities like body scrubs, steam and Jacuzzi right in your room (on additional basis).  The post therapy part included, being escorted to a quite dim lit, waiting area where I relaxed, breathing in an amazing experience I just had while sipping a hot  cup of green tea with some dark chocolates and walnuts for a quick a boost.

Minimalistic Style with AND

It was a chaotic week, so many things rescheduled, i have been trying to be more focused , be more better with my planning. but sometimes you just have those days when things go off the path for various reasons.
I have had 3 such days this week, leaving me with nothing to do. its then when i realized i have been pushing myself so hard that i hardly had time for myself. i mean i don’t know when was the last time i read a book, or watched a movie in theater. I am not complaining, (even though people keep asking me how i haven’t watched ‘Dangal’ yet but well i have my hands full and i feel good about it.

With a full time job and all free time dedicated to blog the only time i get sometimes is to plan and plan and plan. So i took these days and spent chink of time at crosswords reading whatever i could get (undoubtedly picked a few as well, i am not heavy reader but will review few soon) I plan to go movie -Alone, its not a big deal these days, but for me it tops my bucket list. so no more waiting around, the next free day i get i am going to book a recliner for myself (isn’t this what truly means you are independent, that you don’t really have to depend on someone to enjoy what really makes you happy?)

This particular monochrome look of culottes and top i shot was completely out of blue (also when i realized i had picked this outfit because it is very classy and go to style, for work, meetings and well i could were this fr a fashion event.. also Kareena wore it)

AND by Anita Dongre is a fabulous brand guys, you find stuff for all you needs, casual outings, party, college or work. they worth for the value you spend on it, quality wise too and well of-course designs and fit.

Paper Boat- Tasting Memories

When paper boat mailed me about the goodie box being dispatched I was excited, I went through their website which is so dreamy, in the sense that it transports you to all the memories that as a kid (and even our secret indulgence as adults amidst this busy world helps us get in touch with our inner kid) was fun (like what? Bursting the bubble wraps, listening to stories when lights went out, sleeping under the stars when you went to stay with grandparents, making paper boats for water puddles, making tents form bed sheets, endlessly blowing soap bubbles, and my favourite was hurdling all friends for outdoor games post tuitions and playing till we beg our parents for last few minutes a million times… I really need to call few of my lost in touch friends now!)

When I opened the pretty box it looked like a box of colored surprise. The bottles packed in cute shapes (reminded me of those 1 Rs/- colored Pepsi packet sold outside school…just the cooler version) had flavors like ‘Aamras’, ‘Jaljeera’, ‘Jamun kala khatta’ and ‘Aam panna’

Aamras: Reminds me of all summers as a kid, the season of mango meant treat and family reunions for a whole wide long month. Aunts visiting us, cousins everywhere, going to grandmas for holidays..Family time in total Hindi movie style. Every dessert and sweet forgotten, it was Aamras, mango pudding, mango sorbet, mango pudding, aam ka achaar… Basically everything mango; day and night. The house was filled with the fragrance as my mom filled the bucket of water with mangos.
Taste: sweet and pure delight to senses.

Aam Panna: Reminds me of huge barnis my grandma used to make while she used to prepare achaar, and I used to sneak of lot of raw mangos to eat later. This drink brought a lot of memories with her and I am going to toast this drink and share it with my family in her memory
Taste: Perfect balance of sweetness, sourness and spiciness.

Jamun kala khatta : I really don’t have any specific memories with it, except the fact that I am the only person in my family who likes it and also the weird fact that when anyone asked my mom what you had  when you where expecting  her (me) she said jamun (in a typical.. kya khake paida kiya hai…hahahahah)
Taste: spicy, tangy, sweet and delectable

Jaljeera: summer favourite drink to beat the heat, almost customary in Indian house hold. I remember when we came back from school, or when dad came back home for lunch or long day after work, even guests were delighted with this chilled drink
Taste: just like a mom made drink with love.

Blogger tip: It’s great for parties, no need to waste any glasses, be it party for kids or adults; they will all enjoy sipping from the pouch. Just remember to refrigerate well in advance.

For the classier affair, you can use serve them chilled in glasses and also garnish them with suitable elements for each drink; fresh coriander for jaljeera, grinned black pepper for jamun kala khatta , tip the glass of aamras with a piece of mango and for aam panna well let’s just the raw mango peel or pieces should do the trick.

They also sent me ‘The Jungle book’ as excited i am to watch the movie, this came well in advance before its release and i took it on myself, not just to revisit my memories but also read it to my nieces and make new memories this summer.

Share your paper boat drink on Instagram and Facebook and don’t forget to tag @paperboatdrinks and @fashioneatista

So chuck the aerated drinks this summer and enjoy these yummlicious drinks, available at most of the supermarkets around you. Happy drinking!

Anyway when i returned i received this cutely packaged sleepwear from ‘Dreams Coutured’ the print is quirky and fresh (frankly i am not in cartoons but i love prints and so it is declared by far my favorite) The cloth and fit is incredible and comfortable (loose enough to spread wide when i am rolling around in my sleep and fit enough to lounge around late at home on a holiday.. without looking shabby)

INV Home- Luxury Living

So this week i visited INV Home for blog collaboration and must i say i was stunned with this beautiful store the moment i entered. Already existing in capital, Mumbai and Chandigarh the store has now ventured in city of Nawab’s (known for rich design and heritage) offering eccentric and luxury design space (beware this post might really make your longing for redesigning your space come true)

Fancy, sophisticated and lust worthy i wanted to pick a piece for every corner of my home. Some stores just make you want to redo your whole space just for the love of decor. It’s an enchanting spread over two levels offering, luxury interior options from dinning to cutlery, home textiles to furniture and art deco to lightening.

I really think a person’s home (be it rental or your own) really expresses an individuals’ taste and persona. Be it for designing your home or giving your bedroom the face-lift, vitality, and vibrancy it’s begging for… INV Home should be your one stop shop!

Our homes are the solitude in the chaotic world and anything we spend on is an investment well made so this is one expense you shouldn’t worry about! You’ll find something you love (international designs) that no one else has. From beautiful lamps to show pieces, glittering (and distinctive patterned) cushions, rugs (or carpets that add really cosy feel) the details accessible at the store will lit up any dull space (talk about statements pieces and styles that will turn into conversation starters).

Customized for today’s modern lifestyle, the store induces an exceptional sense of new age fusion. There’s something to satisfy the demands of a varied range of clientele. From the perfect walk in set up to tiny details i would dare you to leave empty handed from the luxury lifestyle store.

Blogger Tip: like fashion interior decor also has its own trend, and this year it’s all about experimenting and mixing metals. Mix and match both colours and textures against each other to get away from staged décor and give homes a more natural aura. Some common combinations that will be seen include champagne silver with bronze, copper with chrome and silver with tones of bronze.

Pink Mud- A Pretty Mess

Hope you guys are having a great week, well just 1 more day to weekend guys..Keep it strong. Today I am going to share with you my review on India’s own (future) Victoria secret (well in terms of mists and perfumes for sure)
Pink Mud is an Indian brand started by power of like-minded girls too meet the much needed gap of well priced yet quality product in fragrance sector. If you follow me on Instagram you will know how obsessed i am with hand creams and mists. So i ordered myself their cute little bucket  treat-an assortment of their EDT’s, body mists and deo (I ordered it few months back so might not have the bucket but even better packages, after all I use it thoroughly before sharing my reviews)
The first thing i saw were the cute little boxes, Pink Mud calls it “Pops on the Go” and are available in two variants – “Black Striper Pack” and “Pink Checkered Pack”. Each of these pops contains two 20 ml perfumes. The pops looks so cute and fun, you can also buy them separately for keeping it in your bag. (They were two strong for me, and i might not go for it again, but well fragrance is a very personal choice)

Coming to the main product, the “Pink Mud Foxy EDT”. I personally love the bottle – it’s quirky and fun. The cap is like a big solitaire (they definitely got the-girls love diamonds way seriously, i might even save the bottle now that it’s almost done) the fragrance is very sweet very floral. Something you can wear on a fun day out with girls to special occasions, it has a very unique fragrance and it’s not something you will
Price:- Rs.499/- for 50ml

The mist i got Is “Lacy Body Mist” which is like aqua in a bottle, it’s not so fancy bottle but the magic lies within it (it’s tough and great for n the go, i have carried it everywhere and reused it,around the day for a dash of freshness) The fragrance is just a puff of freshness on skin with a hint of vanilla and fruity aroma (use it as soon as you step out of shower and let it linger, use it again directly on skin whenever you need, because just like you skin your odour needs to be under check)
Price: – Rs.299/- for 236ml

“Sexy EDT” as the name suggests has a very tantalizing and mysterious fragrance. I have worn it to parties were my friends couldn’t stop asking about it, expecting it to be some high end (and over priced perfume) but were really glad to know it was affordable treat just a click away.
Price:- Rs.499/- for 50ml

Do check their Facebook for latest offers and special offers. It a great product to gift your love or pamper yourself being easy on your pocket and getting lot of real thank you (after all everyone likes a gift that they can actually use)

Buy: Amazon , Flipkart or there own cool website Pink Mud

Reinvent Luxury with- ‘Skin Yoga’

I discovered this young skin care brand called skin yoga a while back which is an Indian brand and is derived from traditional Indian beauty routines and elements. (That in today’s time is a definite luxury. Why? Well firstly it’s non chemical, then it saves the trouble of making it yourself and turning your kitchen in some sort of Ayurveda test center and most importantly has power to give immediate results, if you needed one more reason well it was the only source of skin care/ beauty products for royalty and all the beautiful Maharanis)

Saffron, Turmeric, Walnut, Coffee, Green Tea are just few ingredients behind their skin care range. There products apart from being truly natural are rejuvenating and they always keep coming up with something new.  Their description of products and easy access helps to get the best (and fresh) for your skin.

Except for sunscreen and body wash/lotion i try to avoid as many chemical products i can when it comes to skin care. These products give results and i say so because I am writing this after a complete use of my products (and ordering myself some refills)

I really don’t know which amazing product i should start with first, so let me get a little partial and start with the ‘Coffee Scrub’ (all u coffee lovers hold your breath because now you can enjoy the existence of coffee in more ways than just in your cuppa) it’s favorite not only because i can enjoy the aroma of coffee right when I step in my shower but also because this scrub helps in beating cellulite ( those tiny little bumps on your thighs and butt) and most amazing part is after washing it off it leaves your skin nourished and soft (thanks to the essential oil added in this recipe now i don’t need a moisturizing ritual post this) just avoid white towel after.

Coffee Scrub from Skinyoga

I am never falling out of love for this product and it will henceforth be the most important part of my bath essentials (I solemnly swear, like any coffee lover would) I mean imagine all that wonder in just 10 minutes (I use it thrice a week, not because it states so, but thanks to my work were every mooring i am just in a rush to reach somewhere)

Coming to their ‘Saffron Walnut Scrub’ it’s great, and i use it twice a week. The saffron helps lighten the skin (remember how they always show luxurious baths in milk and saffron in  movies and commercials that claim to be pure, well we all know how those soaps are, but this for sure is purest form) The added presence of walnut helps in regeneration of skin and allows good blood circulation ( a good 2 minutes massage while washing it of is what I do to get most out of this product) sandalwood helps with dark spots (the irritating little things that makes us use a lot of concealer, well time to use this and you won’t need that anymore) it also works great as an anti- ageing remedy (great to gift your beautiful mom’s. Trust me they will thank you later)

The ‘Green Tea Mask’ is another amazing product; i have been using it a lot. It leaves my skin really soothed and refreshed. (especially in this confused weather were my skin can’t decide to be oily or dry, this is a great rescue)

Coconut Sea Salt Foot Scrub from Skin Yoga

The ‘Coconut Sea Salt Foot Scrub’ is perfect for pampering your feet at home (while we easily take time out for our face and nails quite often, this particular product is a quick treat for my feet and also helps maintain my pedicured for a longer time) I used it to scrub away the dead cell  (hearing the latest ‘Dhere Dhere’ starring Sonam and Hrithik on repeat mode, I love the song) and washed it off with warm water and voila (I don’t even need a moisturizer after all that goodness of coconut which by far is the best source of pure moisture for your hair to feet) put on your socks and enjoy your day with happy feet.

The ‘Neem Purifier’ (this was the last product i used, because it said post I used it the day i was back from my road trip this weekend and i just needed a shower (at 1 30 in the night) I wasn’t tired but needed to get of the clothes i was wearing the entire day, using public toilets and dining at a very weird dhaba (FYI I love dhaba food, but the sticky weather , absence of sanitizer and dengue rumors made it even worse) even as a kid when i got sick my mom used to add neem to bathing water and i wasn’t more thankful that night to have this at my disposal. After washing myself with some pleasant body wash i went for a handful of scrub and massaged all over (especially my hands , neck and legs ) and rinsed away, all set to get ready for a good night sleep.

I have already ordered my refills, and hope this review helps you orders yours. Its available online and delivers worldwide. Do share your experaince on @fashioneatitsa on Instagram.

Spa la vie by L’Occitane

IMG_1507[1] IMG_1506[1]

Spa days are the best kind of days. All stress, negative vibes and tension released into the calm and serene surroundings. The latest addition in the list of Hyderabad Spa’s is the Spa La Vie by international brand L’Occitane. Already being a huge fan of their bath and body products (especially the lotions and hand creams…Gosh I am obsessed with them) the spa is a total cherry on the top – for luxury, by the brand. The whole ambiance is very luxurious and calming, the classy crème interiors are so soothing that you will immediately step into your Zen mode. After the refreshing welcome drink (a very strong and refreshing cup of detox tea- combination of lemon, ginger and honey) I was asked to fill out some important details (mandatory before any spa experience as it helps them know about any precautions to be taken) post that I was introduced to my masseuse, who led me towards my spa room. The Treatment I choose was “Aromachologie Relaxing Massage” a 60 minutes Swedish massage which sure left my muscles free of stiffens and completely relaxed my back as I mentioned it to be my focal area. There was a special Chinese acupressure and Balinese massage technique used to stimulate circulation and ease tensions. Well I would say it sure did the wonder, because I was beaming with joy ready for shower and to take over another stressful week before my next spa date with myself.
