JAYATI GOENKA

Jayati Goenka : Pearl graduate Jayati Goenka’s namesake label promotes India’s rich repertoire of handicrafts in fresh, offbeat renditions. Their easy styles combine age-old techniques, such as Rajasthan’s hand block printing and dyeing, with relaxed cuts and an eye for tiny details — be it a pocket placement, a seam line, or a colour.

The brand is founded by Jayati Goenka, a fashion design graduate from Pearl Academy of Fashion, Jaipur. She enjoys studying local art-crafts and encourage the Indian craft communities.

Summer Ease in NAushad Ali

There is nothing more enticing in summers than a relaxed piece of clothing that lets you flow and your body breathe while looking gorgeous. This is exactly what my Naushad Ali outfit makes me feel this summer. A designer with minimalist inclinations, he believes in revisiting designs to adapt more than to add. He fosters a deep love of Indian traditions and crafts, creating designs that bring together modern cuts and heritage fabrics.

While i knew of the brand for a few years now, it is my time in Pondicherry that got me further aware him, his designs and techniques revives India’s traditional fabrics and sustain its practitioners. His label endeavours to balance the inspiration of India and its history, in all its forms, while keeping a keen eye on the world of today. At his studio in Pondicherry, every garment is designed, tailored and packed with earnest dedication.
