JAYATI GOENKA

Jayati Goenka : Pearl graduate Jayati Goenka’s namesake label promotes India’s rich repertoire of handicrafts in fresh, offbeat renditions. Their easy styles combine age-old techniques, such as Rajasthan’s hand block printing and dyeing, with relaxed cuts and an eye for tiny details — be it a pocket placement, a seam line, or a colour.

The brand is founded by Jayati Goenka, a fashion design graduate from Pearl Academy of Fashion, Jaipur. She enjoys studying local art-crafts and encourage the Indian craft communities.
Being from the culturally rich city,Jaipur- She was always drawn to the simpler life, sustainable life and artisanal life.
Hence she decided to launch her own line of natural hand-crafted clothing label “Jayati Goenka” which focuses on ageless, authentic, handmade and sustainable fashion lifestyle. Her team of various experienced professionals strives to deliver the best of her concepts.
She’s chief designer with her parental company, Shivam International, Jaipur which is a Manufacturer and Exporter of Textile Made-ups, Garments & Handicrafts. The company has been closely working and exporting to Japan and European markets for the past ten years.

‘Indigo chronicles’ tells the story of the vast textile industry of Jaipur through waste. Indigo, a commonly used natural dye for all kinds of hand printing in Jaipur, is easy to spot around the city. You can find it running through the drains of the pink city, as blots on walls, in sarees and tunics that dress not just the people in the city but a widely accepted colour across the country, the rugs, the jaipuri blankets, the rajasthani turbans, all narrate the story of, arguably the oldest known natural dye.
